Artist Statement: Using screen print retro-inspired mixed media design, this execution was an ode to the iconic poster art of the 1970s, usually collected from trading cards and bubble gum. The graphic is a comic-style illustration with usage of vintage poster display typography, ink bleed printing effects, and a bit of poster card texture to replicate the look and feel that popularized these novelty collectibles into the history of baseball memorabilia. The heater aka the fastball is the most popular and common pitch in the sport and this piece immortalizes the throw.
